Antediluvian Kaiju/Titan "Daidako" Octopus

CONCEPT DESIGN: This drawing and painting of the Kaiju "Daidako" octopus attacking an ancient astronaut rocket base embedded in the abyssal depths of the sea bed is inspired by my love for Japanese and Lovecraftian deep sea monsters and UFO/rocket base lore. Note the guardian patrol sperm whales also being attacked. "Daidako" or "Oodako" is hungry for sperm whale meat.

([Yonaguni-jima] Kaitei Iseki), is a submerged rock formation off the coast of Yonaguni, the southernmost of the Ryukyu Islands, in Japan. It lies approximately a hundred kilometres east of Taiwan.

Marine geologist Masaaki Kimura claims that the formations are man-made stepped monoliths. These claims have been described as pseudo-archaeological. Neither the Japanese Agency for Cultural Affairs nor the government of Okinawa Prefecture recognize the features as important cultural artifacts and neither government agency has carried out research or preservation work on the site.
