Sharkman Conceptual Drawing for Author Steve Alten

This was an unpublished Pens, inks and Prisma pencils conceptual sketch for a Steve Alten dive into the comic book world sometime in 2013. I plan to collage a juvenile bull shark into the image sometime soon--Maybe two pups. The teenaged boy in this drawing is a genetically manipulated and surgically altered North Korean young man.

I pulled the plug on this one when one of Steve's publishers wanted me to draw a recognizable bull shark fin growing out of the kid's head. I know that Sharkman made it into DC Comics and I know that a big bull shark man-thing made it into the "Suicide Squad" as well as a separate and unconnected Marvel property, but this was all just two Hokey for me. I've got my pride to consider.
