"Balam" Time/Star-Cruiser Viewed from Portside

Client: New York Times Bestselling Author Steve Alten for his "Domain" Trilogy.

Books: "Domain, Resurrection," and "Phobos: Mayan Terror."

Location: West Palm Beach, Florida.

This illustration of the "Balam," was created for three books. She's a twenty-five thousand year old star cruiser envisioned by Steve Alten for his book "Domain" which followed his second book in the "MEG" series circa 2000. It was a direct commission by Steve to be published in the third book, "Phobos: Mayan Terror." "Balam" is the Mayan language name for the Olmec/Mayan/Toltec/Aztec Jaguar god Tezcatilpoca--who is also the Aztec "Smoking Mirror" god--who is sometimes in conflict with Kulculcan who is also Quetzalcoatl, the feathered serpent god. Anybody dizzy yet?

This assignment made me an ancient astronauts/aliens starship designer.

My starship concept render is from Steve Alten's original concept for a time-traveling star cruiser piloted by the Nephilim going back 25,000 years. Steve wanted to see something that looked incredibly ancient, yet incredibly sleek, and thoroughly realistic--something that looked like a cross between a Templar dagger and an Arleigh Burke Class US Navy destroyer.
