Sketching the 'Flash Gordon' Space Rocket as an Ancient Astronaut Escape Shuttle

SUBJECT: This was a "Sketch-a-Doodle" of an Ancient Astronaut flight crew escaping a Lovecraftian Elder God's attack on the Bimini Island seaport during a violent hurricane in 11,000 BC.

MODELS: The cinematic serial "Flash Gordon's" Dr. Hans Zarkov's rocket ship spaceship designs from 1936 through 1949 as "Rocket Ship" and on through the 1950s. The comic strip was begun by Alex Raymond in 1934. I used crabs, a sea robin fish, a giant spider crab and a big Sonoran desert toad sporting smaller secondary mutant legs as my models for the Elder God Dagon daemon.

YEAR: 2014.

INSPIRATION: Bimini Island's famous wall and Atlantean seaport circa 11,000 BC under attack from the ancient Elder God under the Atlantic Ocean, "Dagon."

LOCATION: The McDonald Family homestead in southeastern central Arizona midway between Phoenix and Tucson.
