Saint Michael the Archangel

COMISSIONED FOR & BY: Our family, the McDonalds and our kinfolk.

PURPOSE: Sympathy Cards, Congratulatory Cards, and Special Needs.

INSPIRATION: This being is Saint Michael the Archangel sharing a Roman Catholic and Greek Orthodox motif as he descended upon a mountaintop in Antarctica and made himself physically manifest. Saint Michael the Archangel is Lori's Patron Saint whom she chose when she received the Sacrament of Confirmation in the Roman Catholic Church.

In my life and in our family's, we have suffered horrendous losses and have rode along with many loved ones on their final ride, be it disease, by injury or by violent ends. Little did I know that I would in the future have to minister to the bereaved and offer grief counseling to the widows and children of first responders, military veterans, as well as to those first responders and military veterans who lost wives and children.

Or to prisoners facing grief while locked away. For those not incarcerated, I rendered this image and my wife created cards of sympathy and memorialization from this 2006 illustration.
