Recombinant Chimera Eel SB-77 for Steve Alten

My giant recombinant chimera Anguilla anguilla eel drawing is a working Project for 'The Loch 3' book being authored by New York Times Bestselling Author Steve Alten, Creator of the "MEG" ('The MEG') book and motion picture franchise.

Completed in JULY of 2024, this commissioned illustration for a science fiction / horror action adventure book will be published in 2025. In this illustration, a paramilitary corporate security operator is seized by a large 'Guiver'-stage eel (Catadromous Anguilla anguilla fish) predator who was genetically engineered as a prototype for a bioweapon. For many who don't know, eels can climb out of the water, hunt on land, climb rock piles, trees, cliffs and cement containment structures for engineered water containment. Plus they death-roll like crocodiles, spinning as fast as a boat's outboard motor propeller. They wriggle around overland and move with snake-like muscle contractions.
